About
New Education Forum Bielsko Biała will mainly focus on the following topics:
1
Green Deal and changes in the labour market in Bielsko-Biała: expectations of employers and challenges for education
2
The role of local governments, teachers and students in adjusting to green and digital transformation
3
School in a process of constant change: good practices supporting formal education
European Climate Law is a historic step on a global scale: it has made the European Union the first of the three largest greenhouse gas emitters in the world to be legally enshrined in climate neutrality. The same is true for the 2030 target: net CO2 emissions reductions of at least 55% by 2030 compared to 1990.
The “Fit for 55” package is a kind of toolkit for meeting the EU's 2030 climate goals on the way to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. It is extremely complex, including very far reaching conclusions which makes this package unprecedented. The scale of the transformation it will bring is simply staggering. However, if this transformation is really to take place, we must also invest in education, because it requires transformation as well.
European education must support Europe's transition to a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable way of living and working. Sustainable development should be part of the entire spectrum of education and training, including curricula and teacher professional development, and also extend to the adaptation of educational buildings, infrastructure and activities. NEF Bielsko-Biała will answer which solutions are most needed and which are possible from the point of view of employers, local government, teachers and students.

Panel I: The impact of digital and green transformation on the labour market, employers, local government and education.
Over 70% of European companies point at a lack of staff with the appropriate digital skills as a barrier to investment. Europe also faces a shortage of digital experts who can develop cutting-edge technologies for the benefit of environmental protection. What changes are Silesian employers already observing and what will their expectations towards new employees in the coming years be? How is production and services changing under the influence of the EU climate law? How can the local government and its subordinate schools be better prepared for the upcoming changes?
